 To apply for a UNISA bursary, you typically need to apply online through the UNISA student portalYou'll need to ensure you are temporarily registered by a specified date (like January 31st) to activate your registration if successful. Reapply annually if you're a returning bursary recipient. For postgraduate bursaries, your supervisor may need to support your application. 

We would like to announce the 2026 UNISA Postgraduate Bursary Application open 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2025The core purpose is to provide financial support to postgraduate students through a student-centred platform and assist the university in attracting and supporting postgraduate students in delivering quality research outputs.

  • Kindly note that the processing of refunds and allowance is still in progress, please ensure that all the required documents have been submitted.
  • It is important to note that no student’s account will be settled, and no bursary refunds/allowances will be processed until the Bursary contracts have been submitted/received and processed.
