We would like to announce the 2026 UNISA Postgraduate Bursary Application open 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2025The core purpose is to provide financial support to postgraduate students through a student-centred platform and assist the university in attracting and supporting postgraduate students in delivering quality research outputs.

To all 2024 Approved & Awarded students:
- Kindly note that the processing of refunds and allowance is still in progress, please ensure that all the required documents have been submitted.
- It is important to note that no student’s account will be settled, and no bursary refunds/allowances will be processed until the Bursary contracts have been submitted/received and processed.

- Temporary Registration: Ensure you are temporarily registered by the specified date (e.g., January 31st).
- Reapply Annually: If you are a returning bursary recipient, reapply each academic year.
- Supervisor Support: For postgraduate bursaries, your supervisor might need to support your application on the M&D activities platform, as noted in the UNISA 2025 Postgraduate Bursary Application.
- Application Outcome: The outcome of your application will be communicated via your UNISA mylife email.
- Appeals: If your application is rejected, you may have a limited time to appeal, especially if the rejection is due to status contradictions.
- UNISA offers various bursaries, including merit-based bursaries and bursaries for specific fields like teaching and education.
- You can also explore external bursaries, as UNISA encourages students to apply for multiple funding options.
